Kao i svaka dobra čorba, ovaj blog je teško zamešateljstvo, nered ideja, utisaka, uvida i šta god drugo padne pod ruku. / As any good čorba (pronounced as tch-awr-bah) this blog is a hodgepodge, a jumble of ideas, impressions, insights and whatever else comes to hand.

2nd half done!
Helen completed the McLaren Vale half-marathon today, and improved on her time from Sydney, even with the route being much more up and down! Congratulations!
I had to sit this one out cos of a dodgy back, but provided essential support and encouragement without which none of this would be possible :-)

A few piccies from our stroll to Sydney, pre- and post-half-marathon.

Ja volim globalizaciju / I love globalisation

.........
Today I found ajvar - aka 'ayvar' as it is spelled for foreigners - in the local supermarket. I checked out the origin and lo and behold, it's from Brus, a place no more than a 100 km from my home town! And it's half-decent too; as you can tell, I've already polished off half the jar for breakfast. I love globalisation! :-)

Woolshed Gully to Mount Lofty
Last Sunday we went for a walk in the Adelaide Hills early in the morning - probably around 8am, which must be a record of some sort, for us anyway. The light is best at that time of the day and the views... well, see for yourself!
We climbed Mount Lofty, which is probably the best known promontory over Adelaide, together with lots of fit Adeladians - and a few of the not so fit ones. It seems to be a fad amongst the trendy folk to get up early and run up this hill with latest lycra outfits on display - making the difference between the fit and the not-so-fit all the more poignant.
In any case, we chose the route less travelled and avoided most of the human traffic, only to then rejoin the maddening crowds at the top of Lofty, for a hot cup-a-coffee... Some luxuries of modernity are not so bad after all :-)
